I just wanted to give you a quick update on Ruby. She is fantastic and is adjusting well. Ruby just loves her BIG brother (75 lb lab) and he has been so gentle and patient with her. She’s sleeping in her kennel from 9-5 waking once for a potty break. She is having fun playing with her new toys and exploring her new home. Claire is so in love with her and is the best little dog mommy I know.
We all are so pleased with the new addition to our family!

Joanne and I just want to thank you so much for letting us adopt Ariel and Leroy. We could not be happier with the whole experience starting with meeting you and your husband!
We had asked you if we could come and visit your home where the Mom’s and Dad’s were raised even knowing you didn’t have any puppies for us to see. You were so open and receptive to that and other breeders said we could not visit, they would send pictures.
Upon meeting you both, and seeing how the dogs were part of your home, we knew Cavern Hill was our choice for a puppy.
When you called in August and told us that one of Ariel’s puppies was available, we were ecstatic! You told us that Ariel would be ready to go home with us when the puppy was ready – what a wonderful situation!
We can not tell you how happy we are with the new additions to our household which already has two small dogs. They all get along beautifully and Ariel is the perfect Mother! She brings Leroy toys, washes his face all the time and sleeps beside him in a bed next to his kennel. Our vet has pronounced LeRoy to be the “perfect puppy”
Leroy and Ariel are both so sweet and love to kiss and sit on our laps – they are true joys and you trained them well!

Get the Teddy Bear Dog that is right for you!
If you would like to get an affectionate dog for your family then you should consider getting a Teddy Bear Dog. Because they are so small, they make perfect pets for apartments. Because they tend to get along with other pets and children, They can be ideal for families with large homes as well.
Officially, the Teddy Bear Dog is not a breed of its own. It is a designer dog that has it own legal copyright and trademark. Most commonly the parents are purebred Shih Tzu and Bichon Frises. Hence people often refer to this mixed breed as Shichon or Zuchon. Typically, the price for a Shichon /Zuchon puppy will be somewhere between $1495 and $1695.
Some breeders have “experimented” with mixing other breeds into the gene pool and then charged premium prices for the puppy. However there are unscrupulous dealers who will freely misrepresent such a puppy as a”Teddy Bear Puppy” because they know that with the new name, the puppy would be worth four or five times more to unsuspecting clients.
Fortunately, there is a way to be sure you are purchasing the real deal. A true Teddy Bear Dog is registered with the American Teddy Bear Association. They are Shichons or Zuchons who’s parents are registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC) as Bichon Frises and Shi Tzu.
Having settled on the right dog there are some wonderful things that you can expect. Unlike lots of other small dogs, they have mellow and loving personalities. Zuchons are known for being affectionate and playful. Hence they have the personality of a Teddy Bear as well as the looks.
This designer dog loves to cuddle and they are spunky and social. They won’t bother your neighbors because the are not yappy. On the other hand they are very alert and will bark to let you know something is happening. Because they grow very fond of their families the dog will want to be with you all the time.
Like their parents, they are very smart and easily trainable. They are eager to please and they are good at picking up tricks. They are not overly active and make good lapdogs. They get along with other pets and with children as long as the dog got socialized early enough. True Teddy Bear Dogs are considered hypoallergenic because they do not shed much.
You need to understand that your Zuchon puppy will want to be with you so much that they may develop separation anxiety. That is because they are so social and so loyal. So get TWO or You will probably have to prepare yourself for a broken heart every time you have to leave them home.
